Carrier Fire & Security Products is looking to fill a very exciting role for a Product Manager for its EMEA Life Safety business. The Product Manager will be responsible for managing product marketing activities for his/her portfolio and ensure profitable growth.
This is an impactful role for a broad based, business thinker with analytical, strategic thinking, project management and communication skills who can collaborate effectively across the entire business (marketing, engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, sales, and all relevant business leaders).
The successful candidate will possess a strong business acumen with knowledge of product marketing and portfolio management, will have strong customer-oriented skills and even stronger desire to get results to maximize growth, profitability and return on investment for the business. You will be expected to be a high-energy, creative and resourceful self-starter who demonstrates leadership skills and instincts. In addition, you must be a hands-on person who possesses the best combination of strategic thinking and drive to achieve tangible business results. You have strong influence skills and can prove that you can lead and drive results within a cross-functional team.
This role reports directly to the Director Product Management and Marketing for Life Safety EMEA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Integrate inputs to develop distinctive product plans with outstanding financial outcomes
- Competent in microeconomics, finance, Voice of Customer (VOC) / Observational VOC, research and analysis and basic marketing toolkits.
- Own the product planning process including new product additions working with Engineering, Operations and Sales.
- Specifically identify, develop, and execute on the relevant product / brand strategies to achieve current portfolio gaps.
- Design VOC / OVOC as well as a strong fundamental understanding and ability to apply value toolkit to tough value pricing situations.
- Demonstrated ability to implement new value-based pricing strategies with positive results in the market.
- Work with management to drive strong financial results from pricing.
- Understand transactional pricing and analytical techniques as well as execute waterfall analysis and drive to actions with financial results.
- Develop dynamic pricing strategies based on value delivered for respective product families.
- Ability to communicate the value of the offering in customer terms so that our customers choose Carrier offerings based on value delivered.
- Strong knowledge of how to drive value propositions into compelling customer pitches that result in customer orders
- Understand and manage product and services life cycles, profitability, demand planning, new product/services development ideation and process management, competitive offerings
- Demonstrate understanding of end-to-end role of product manager in context of dynamic competitive environment.
- Integrate business into decision making and deliver on customer needs, on time and on budget.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years work experience with proven track record of success with demonstrable results
- Experience in industrial or consumer business (by specific product line) is desirable
- Must have demonstrated success leading marketing, strategic planning or product management
- Proven experience in marketing, analytical, program/project management and implementation skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business, MBA a plus
- Experience in working in matrix, multi-national organization
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Power point
- Willingness and ability to travel abroad as required
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, Danish language skills are a plus
- Strategic Marketing Skills. Deep understanding and experience in microeconomics, finance, VOC, research and analysis and basic marketing toolkit.
- Leadership. A proven track record of leading projects and teams that successfully achieve milestones and complete deliverables.
- Results-Oriented. Proven ability to take actions and implement effective solutions in a timely manner
- Analytical Thinking and Decision-Making. Excellent planning, execution and project-management skills.
